The Facility

Downtown Studio Without Street Contamination

Recording speech in an urban core like Toronto presents severe acoustic challenges: streetcars on King and Queen, construction rumble, and commercial ventilation systems. Rather than masking these flaws with software noise suppressors, nylvut was built from the studs inward.

Our room uses dual-wall decoupled drywall assemblies filled with mineral wool insulation, double-door acoustic seals, and custom bass traps in all corners. This dampens standing waves between 80Hz and 250Hz, giving human speech natural authority and balance without hollow room resonance.

NC-20
Certified Room Noise Criterion

Quiet enough for whisper dynamics, voiceover narration, and high-gain dynamic microphones without background hiss.
